There are various ways in which acupuncture benefits fertility:
Stress and other factors can disrupt the hypothalamic pituitary-ovarian axis (HPOA), causing hormonal imbalances that can negatively impact fertility. Acupuncture has been found to reduce the effect of stress hormones on the body, thereby helping the normal balance of fertility hormones.
Acupuncture has also been demonstrated to increase blood flow to the ovaries, enhancing the environment in which ovarian follicles develop. It also promotes blood flow to the uterus, improving the quality of the endometrial lining.
